The Coega Development Corporation (Pty) Ltd is the operator of the Coega Industrial Development Zone.

The CDC (registration number 82 / 03891 / 07) is incorporated and registered under the Companies Act of South Africa. The CDC is wholly-owned by the South African Government.

The CDC was established in 1999 and is the successor in law to the Coega Implementing Authority, the body mandated in 1997 by the South African Government to implement the Coega Industrial Development Zone.
